NOTABLE
Three A-10 teams, VCU (12-0), GW (11-0), and UMass (10-0) are all perfect at home this year. Dating back to last year, VCU has won 16 straight home games, which is tied for the 10th longest active streak in the country. GW also has now won 12 straight home games. On the flip side, Saint Louis is a perfect 8-0 on the road, the best road record in Division I.
Saint Louis is 21-2 for the first time in school history. The Billikens 15-game winning streak has set a school record
Junior Briante Weber became VCU’s all-time steals leader last Saturday and now sits at 261 in 95 games.
The A-10 is deep when it comes to defense. The league has 10 teams that are holding opponents to under 70 points per game, including Saint Louis, who is holding opponents to a stingy 58.6 points per game.
Dayton’s Devin Oliver is one of five players in Division I who leads his respective team in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals. The other four are Shabazz Napier of Connecticut, Stephen Madison of Idaho, Kelsey Barlow of Illinois Chicago, and Jamar Gulley of Missouri State
GW was one of 14 teams in NCAA Division I with at least eight RPI Top 100 victories (based on official NCAA RPI) entering this week.
Halil Kanacevic went over 1,000 points for his career at Dayton (counting 282 points from his freshman year at Hofstra) and over 900 rebounds (counting 250 as a freshman). Only eight players in school history have recorded over 1,000 points and 900 rebounds.
