NEWPORT NEWS, Va.— La Salle sophomore Jordan Price was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday. Freshman Peyton Aldridge of Davidson also earned Rookie of the Week honors Monday. The awards were for games played Dec. 15-21.
Price averaged 28.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games for La Salle this week. The guard from Decatur, Ga., shot 15-for-29 (.517) from the field, including 6-for-11 (.545) from three. He was also 21-for-24 (.875) from the line. His most exciting play of the week earned him the No. 2 spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10, a half-court buzzer-beater vs. American to complete a 20-point comeback and force overtime. Price scored 26 points and tallied six rebounds and five assists versus the Eagles. He then scored a career-high 31 points at Towson, making him the first A-10 player with multiple 30-point games this season. Price is one of four players in nation with multiple 25 point, 5 rebound, 5 assist games this season.
Aldridge finished with a game-high 22 points, nine rebounds and a personal-best four blocks in Davidson's seventh straight win, an 80-68 victory at College of Charleston. In addition, the forward from Leavittsburg, Ohio, finished with five 3-pointers and went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. He also had two assists and a steal in the Wildcat win. It marks the second straight Rookie of the Week award for Aldridge this season.

Davidson’s Jack Gibbs registered a 19-point, 11-rebounds double-double in the Wildcats’ win over College of Charleston … Kendall Pollard scored 19-points and tallied eight rebounds in his first career start helping shorthanded Dayton to a win over Boston University … UD freshman Darrell Davis tallied a career-best 19 points with a nearly perfect performance from the field (6-of-7, 5-of-5 from three) to match Pollard’s points … Marquise Moore has had six straight double-digit scoring performances, including tallying 11 (vs. Catawba) and 23 (vs. Iona) in a pair of George Mason wins last week … Mason freshman Isaiah Jackson scored 14 points in each of those Patriot wins, including a 4-of-5 performance from 3-point range and a perfect 8-of-8 at the line … Rhode Island’s E.C. Matthews scored 23 points (19 in the second half) and grabbed eight rebounds (seven in the second half) in a win over Detroit … Richmond’s Terry Allen led the Spiders to a pair of wins with 19 points and nine rebounds against South Alabama and 14 points and 4 rebounds versus Pepperdine …Freshman Jaylen Adams of St. Bonaventure had 15 points, four rebounds and five assists in a win over Binghamton … Isaiah Miles tallied 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting and recorded two blocks in Saint Joseph’s win over Marist … Saint Louis’s Ash Yacoubou averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in the Billiken’s wins over Texas-Pan American and Vermont. Yacoubou’s freshman teammate Milik Yarbrough recorded a 10-point, 13-rebounds double-double against Vermont.
