Kelsey Haycook and
Kerri Aiken have earned Scholar All-America recognition from the NSCAA, it was announced this week. Haycook was named to the First Team while Aiken earned a spot on the Third Team.
"We're so happy that both Kerri and Kelsey can end their amazing careers by being named to the Scholar All-American team," said head coach Paul Royal . "Both Kerri and Kelsey have excelled both on and off the field because they take great pride in being the whole student-athlete."
Haycook was recently named a NSCAA Second Team All-American and a Second Team Academic All-American after setting the school single-season records for goals (20) and points (43) in her final year with the Explorers. The Point Pleasant, N.J. native carries a 3.79 GPA as a nutrition major, and was a Scholar All-America Third Team selection a year ago.
The 2014 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year also finishes with the La Salle career records for goals (60) and points (142). Haycook is a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy and a finalist for the Soccer News Net College Boot award.
Aiken, the 2014 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, was recently named Academic All-Area and earned a spot on the A-10 All-Championship team following the conference tournament last month.
Aiken led the defense in scoring with three goals and anchored a backline that allowed just three goals in league play as the Explorers go 8-0 in the A-10. The Vorhees, N.J native owns a 3.54 GPA as a criminal justice major.
"The greatest legacy these young ladies and the entire senior class has left our program is that anything is possible if you fully invest and commit all your resources in becoming the very best student and athlete possible."
