Video Display Scoreboard Added to SJU's Hagan Arena

PHILADLEPHIA - Saint Joseph’s University alumnus Mike Hagan ’85 has once again helped enhance the game-day experience for Hawk basketball fans by supporting the installation of a new LED centerhung video display system at the Michael J. Hagan ’85 Arena. The system was designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D.

“We are grateful to Mike for supporting this project as it will provide our fans with a state-of-the-art gameday experience,” said SJU director of athletics Don DiJulia. “This board, with its live video, stats and sponsor information, will greatly enhance Hagan Arena, which was recently named one of the top three venues in the Atlantic 10.”

The display system is comprised of four individual video displays, each measuring approximately 7 feet high by 12.5 feet wide, and featuring 6 millimeter line spacing. These displays will light up the arena with their ability to highlight live video and instant replays. They can show one large image or can be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.

Hawk fans won’t miss a minute of game action as the video displays will incorporate excellent image clarity and contrast with wide-angle visibility.

“Daktronics is thrilled to have worked with Saint Joseph’s University to update the video equipment in Michael J. Hagan  ’85  Arena,” said Scott Willson, Daktronics sales representative. “The new centerhung will bring excitement to fans and really add to the overall game-day feel at the arena.”

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.

The new video board will make its debut on November 14, as the defending Atlantic 10 champion men’s basketball team opens the season against Fairleigh Dickinson.
