WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named George Mason junior James Quinn-Irons as the Under Armour Baseball Player of the Week. Rhode Island graduate student Trystan Levesque and Saint Joseph’s junior Colton Book were chosen as the league’s Co-Pitchers of the Week.  George Mason freshman Andrew Raymond earned Rookie of the Week accolades. The awards are the first of the season and were announced Monday and are for games played Feb. 17-23.

Quinn-Irons hit.667 (12-for-18) with two home runs, four doubles, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored over four games. He collected at least three hits and at least two RBI in three of the four games. He finished 5-for-6 with a pair of doubles, five RBI and four runs scored against Georgetown. In the three-game series against Saint Peter's, the outfielder from Reston, Va., went 7-for-12 with six RBI and four runs scored. He hit a pair of two-run home runs on the series finale in a 14-4 win.

Levesque pitched the game of his life in the Rams' 1-0, 10-inning loss at No. 11 Oregon. A southpaw from East Lyme, Conn., threw 10 scoreless innings while striking out nine batters. He scattered three hits and issued two walks, retiring 17-straight Oregon hitters between the second and seventh innings and threw 119 pitches in his career-long start while facing just four batters over the minimum.

Book turned in another magnificent performance on Saturday, carrying a no-hitter into the final inning as the Hawks topped Mount St. Mary's. In a seven-inning contest, Book did not allow a hit until there was one out in the seventh; he then retired the last two batters to finish off a one-hit complete game shutout of the previously unbeaten Mountaineers. A lefty from Manheim, Pa., he allowed just one walk and struck out 14 batters, one shy of the school record for strikeouts in a game.

Raymond hit .500 (6-for-12) with his first two collegiate home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored. A catcher from Middletown, Md., he started three games behind the plate against Saint Peter's. In the first game of the series, he went 3-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs, in consecutive plate appearances in the third and fifth inning. Raymond had at least two RBI and at least one extra base hit in all three games against Saint Peter's.
