NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Davidson sophomore Lucas Hauth and Fordham graduate student Tomer Zloczower were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week, while Fordham grad student Konstantin Weisa was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week. Davidson freshman Justin Stone was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were for games played Oct. 28 – Nov. 3 and are the final weekly awards of the season.
Hauth scored a pair of goals in Davidson's 5-0 shutout of Duquesne over the weekend. His first score came in the 24th minute on assists from Henry Howell and Hugh Chatham. Just a minute into the second half, the forward from Fleming Island, Fla., netted his second of the night when he chested home a Stone pass played across the end line.
Zloczower found the perfect time to score his first goals of the season on Saturday, registering both goals in a 2-0 win at Saint Louis. The forward from Ness-Ziona, Israel also had a team-high four shots at Columbia earlier in the week.
Weis, a goalkeeper from Karlsruhe, Germany, made four saves in the Rams' regular season finale at Saint Louis, posting his fifth shutout of the season. He came up big late with a 1-0 lead, making a diving glove save in the 88th minute to thwart a potential tying goal by the Billikens. He also had four saves earlier in the week in a loss at Columbia.
Stone, a forward from Cary, N.C., scored a pair of goals in Davidson's 5-0 win over Duquesne. Stone's two goals came less than three minutes apart in the 57th and 59th minutes, respectively. The first goal was on a one-on-one chance, and the final score and team-leading fifth of the season was assisted by Charlie Caswell and Hugh Chatham.
